A New Place to Put Ads for Generic Cialis
Collin Bates put down the phone and scratched something on his desk notepad. He had just had a thought, and he did not want it to disappear during the evening. The time had come for Collin to head home. Tonight he and his wife, Rose, would be dining at the home of one of Rose';s friends.
Collin';s message to himself had concerned the company';s desire to place ads for Generic Cialis in some new publications. Many golfers had seen the ads in Golf Digest, but now company executives wanted to put ads in a different magazine. The executives had challenged Collin and the others in the marketing department to identify a publication that seemed like the right place of a Generic Cialis advertisement.
Collin had noted that his co-workers had talked about the suitability of other sports magazines, but they had failed to mention the world of extreme sports. Collin had made a note to himself to look for magazines that targeted young men involved in extreme sports. Collin wanted his company to hit that market first, before it had even considered running an ad for Generic Viagra.
Collin';s thoughts continued to dwell on the issue of ad placement, even after he and Rose drove to the home where they would be having dinner. Collin tried to concentrate on what the others were saying, but his mind continued to dredge up concerns about the need for a new magazine, a magazine that had lots of male readers. Then out of the blue Collin heard Rose';s friend Rhea say two words, "Gripped Magazine."
Rose had told Collin that Rhea was a professional writer. Collin had understood Rose to say that Rhea had written a number of children';s books. Collin had not expected her to know anything that could relate to the marketing of ED pills.
As Collin listened more intently to Rhea's story, he found that she had been reviewing an article by a student writer. That student planned to send her article to Gripped Magazine, a publication for Canadian rock climbers. It was a new publication. Collin could see a real advantage to putting an ad for Generic Cialis in Gripped.
When it came time to leave, Collin put forth an extra effort, while thanking Rhea for the delicious meal. He secretly knew that what he had really appreciated was her information about a new magazine. Collin felt certain that the marketers of Generic Viagra had not heard of that new magazine.
The next day Collin called one of the summer interns into his office. "Alex," he said, "I want you to do some research on a new magazine. Get the address for Gripped Magzine. Find out how we can contact their advertising department."
Alex jotted down the information. Collin could not tell just how soon Alex might get to working on his new assignment. Collin wanted the information as soon as possible.
Collin decided to try motivating the intern. He wanted to encourage early progress on the intern's assigned search. As Alex rose from his chair, Collin said, "If we make contact quickly with this magazine, we are sure to get a jump on those guys who are selling Generic Viagra."
Three weeks later the advertising department at Gripped got a call about an ad for ED pills.
